CKC membership is open to CRA registered charities , non-profits registered on the qualified donees whose work is based in and serves Calgary and area – inclusive of Airdrie, Banff, Canmore, Cochrane, and Treaty 7 Nations. For more details on our catchment area please explore Calgary Foundation’s granting boundaries.
Please review your profile at least every five years to keep the directory accurate. Profiles not updated in that time will be automatically removed from the directory.
Once you create a profile in the directory, you and anyone on your team will also get access to the Members’ Corner – a dedicated space for Calgary’s nonprofits and charities to access resources, stay informed, and connect with peers.

A registered charity is defined as a charitable organization, public foundation, or private foundation registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). A registered charity is issued a Registration Number from the CRA once approved.
A nonprofit organization is defined as an association, club, or society that is not a registered charity and is organized and operated exclusively for social welfare, civic improvement, pleasure, recreation, or any other purpose except profit. Nonprofit organizations must be registered on the Alberta Non-Profit Listing website
A qualified donee is an organization that can issue official donation receipts for gifts it receives from individuals and corporations. It can also receive gifts from registered charities.
To ensure accurate filtering, Calgary Foundation uses the first two levels of Candid’s Philanthropy Classification System (PCS) subjects hierarchy to code organizations, which then populates the ‘Key Priority’ filter in the CKC directory. PCS codes are for internal use only and won’t be publicly displayed.
